Midnight Run Brewing Company

OPENING SOON. Midnight Run is looking to open in the East Frederick Brewing District soon, joining Rockwell, Attaboy, and Olde Mother on the city’s quickly redeveloping east side. Maryland beer fans got a sneak preview of the nascent brewery’s beers at the Maryland Craft Beer Festival on Frederick’s Carroll Creek in downtown. The brewery’s offerings were well received by festival attendees who are currently awaiting the opening of Midnight Run’s tasting room with great anticipation. MIDNIGHT RUN came into being in a garage more than 10 years ago by home-brewing alchemists with dreams of a brewing empire. with degrees...

Steinhardt Brewing Company

Steinhardt Brewing, resting in the no-man’s land between Frederick and Middletown on Braddock Mountain is the only brewery currently operating in Frederick County that does not have its own tasting room. As a small, independent brewery in a largely residential neighborhood, the family-run brewery utilizes the nearby Braddock Inn (4830 Schley Avenue, Braddock Heights MD 21714) as their unofficial tasting room. While not always the easiest of beers to find in the area, outside of the Braddock Inn, there is always a chance of finding their beers in a variety of local beer bars in the Washington and Frederick County...

Rockwell Brewery

Initially launched in the late winter/early spring of 2017, Rockwell initially launched by contracting their brewing operations. My initial impression at their opening; the folks at Rockwell were selling middling beer at premium prices. Nothing stood out to me, at the time, except for the Bitchin’ Camaro Milk Stout which was very good, with coffee and chocolate notes,...

Olde Mother Brewing Company

From a rocky start to one of the best breweries in the county. It’s really as simple as that. But if you really want more information: Nick and Keith, the proprietors, opened Olde Mother right around Halloween of 2015. At the time, they were brewing on what can best be described as a souped up homebrewer’s system – no ability to chill their wort, no real quality control – they were learning as they went along. Two months after their opening, I stopped in for a flight of six beers. It was not a pleasant experience. At least three...

Attaboy Beer

ABOUT US WE (BRIAN & CARLY) MET ON A BLIND DATE IN 2009. WE WENT TO A TRENDY RUM BAR. AFTER A FEW $12 DRINKS, FANCY INTERIORS, MEDIOCRE CONVERSATION, EVERYTHING WAS… WELL… FINE. WE GOT UP TO PART WAYS AND BRIAN MENTIONED HE WAS OFF TO GET SAUSAGE AND BEERS AT TORONADO (A GRITTY BAR KNOWN FOR SERVING THE BEST BEER IN TOWN. PLINY? YES PLEASE!). CARLY SURPRISED HIM BY ENTHUSIASTICALLY JOINING. THE NEXT FEW HOURS WENT BY IN A FLASH. AND WE’VE BEEN INSEPARABLE SINCE. OUR SHARED LOVE OF BEER AND THE CASUAL, FUN COMMUNITY THAT BEER CREATES INSPIRED...
