The brewery’s offerings were well received by festival attendees who are currently awaiting the opening of Midnight Run’s tasting room with great anticipation. Steinhardt Brewing, resting in the no-man’s land between Frederick and Middletown on Braddock Mountain is the only brewery currently operating in Frederick County that does not have its own tasting room. As a small, independent brewery in a largely residential neighborhood, the family-run brewery utilizes the nearby Braddock Inn (4830 Schley Avenue, Braddock Heights MD 21714) as their unofficial tasting room. While not always the easiest of beers to find in the area, outside of the Braddock Inn, there is always a chance of finding their beers in a variety of local beer bars in the Washington and Frederick County...Read More
Initially launched in the late winter/early spring of 2017, Rockwell initially launched by contracting their brewing operations. With new legislation passed in the spring of 2017, and enacted over the subsequent summer making this business model untenable, Rockwell invested in some equipment that Antietam Brewing Company in Hagerstown was selling after their expansion in the spring of 17. Two months after their opening, I stopped in for a flight of six beers. It was not a pleasant experience. At least three...Read More
ABOUT US WE (BRIAN & CARLY) MET ON A BLIND DATE IN 2009. WE WENT TO A TRENDY RUM BAR. AFTER A FEW $12 DRINKS, FANCY INTERIORS, MEDIOCRE CONVERSATION, EVERYTHING WAS… WELL… FINE. WE GOT UP TO PART WAYS AND BRIAN MENTIONED HE WAS OFF TO GET SAUSAGE AND BEERS AT TORONADO (A GRITTY BAR KNOWN FOR SERVING THE BEST BEER IN TOWN. PLINY? YES PLEASE!). CARLY SURPRISED HIM BY ENTHUSIASTICALLY JOINING. THE NEXT FEW HOURS WENT BY IN A FLASH. AND WE’VE BEEN INSEPARABLE SINCE. OUR SHARED LOVE OF BEER AND THE CASUAL, FUN COMMUNITY THAT BEER CREATES INSPIRED...Read More
