Steinhardt Brewing Company

Steinhardt Brewing, resting in the no-man’s land between Frederick and Middletown on Braddock Mountain is the only brewery currently operating in Frederick County that does not have its own tasting room. As a small, independent brewery in a largely residential neighborhood, the family-run brewery utilizes the nearby Braddock Inn (4830 Schley Avenue, Braddock Heights MD 21714) as their unofficial tasting room.

While not always the easiest of beers to find in the area, outside of the Braddock Inn, there is always a chance of finding their beers in a variety of local beer bars in the Washington and Frederick County area.

The brewery’s best beers have tended to be those that fall under the umbrella of Belgian styles – Dubbels, Strongs, Flanders – and their Tupelo Honey Stout, while their hoppy offerings have been middling – an issue that the brewer has admitted he is working to rectify.

If you’re looking to find where Steinhardt is being served, check out their schedule of events at their website.
